Pakistan Embassy in Tehran Marks Youm-e-Istehsal With Solidarity Event for Kashmir
TEHRAN (Iran News) A large number of Pakistani nationals, students, and media representatives gathered at the Embassy to show solidarity with the Kashmiri people and reaffirm support for their right to self-determination.
Prominent Iranian scholars, Dr. Qasim Safi and Ms. Samaneh Khalafzadeh, addressed the audience and underscored the ongoing struggle of Kashmiris for independence. They praised Pakistan’s continued diplomatic and moral support for the Kashmir cause and its efforts to highlight human rights violations in the region at international platforms.
Deputy Head of Mission, H.E. Ms. Ismat Hassan Sial, expressed gratitude to the Iranian leadership and media for consistently supporting Kashmiris. She acknowledged Iran’s repeated calls for the international community to break its silence on the human rights situation in Jammu and Kashmir.
In her address, Ms. Sial condemned the actions of Indian security forces in the region since 1947, citing a long history of violence including killings, torture, and sexual violence against civilians. She emphasized Pakistan’s unwavering commitment to standing up for human rights, noting its re-election to the United Nations Human Rights Council as global recognition of its efforts.
Ms. Sial reiterated Pakistan’s longstanding appeal to the international community, the United Nations, and global human rights organizations to press India to cease its use of force and seek a diplomatic resolution in line with the UN Security Council’s charter.
Messages from Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif and President Asif Ali Zardari were read aloud during the event, reaffirming Pakistan’s solidarity with the Kashmiri people. A special documentary showcasing the ongoing humanitarian crisis in IIOJK was also screened.
The event concluded with a renewed call for justice, peace, and the right of self-determination for the people of Jammu and Kashmir.
