Food Supply Situation Is Satisfactory

TEHRAN (Iran News) According to ILNA, Gholamreza Nouri stated on Tuesday, June 17, during a meeting of the Market Regulation Headquarters in Mazandaran Province, that the efforts of producers in leading provinces are always a priority for the Ministry.

He added that on the anniversary of the decree issued by Imam Khomeini for establishing the Ministry of Jihad Construction, which coincides with Agriculture Jihad Week, he traveled to Mazandaran to inaugurate several projects ready for operation.

Mazandaran Province holds a significant position in the production of white meat, citrus fruits, and rice, and is always of particular interest to the Ministry of Agriculture Jihad.

Nouri highlighted that, in preparation for Muharram, allocated quotas of essential goods have been designated for provinces. These allocations consider increased consumption during this period and the needs of accommodating provinces, to be utilized if necessary.

He pointed out that measures have been taken to ensure the supply of basic goods in northern provinces with high traveler inflow. Thanks to these measures and increased reserves in recent months, the country’s strategic reserves are in excellent condition, and there has been no need to tap into these reserves so far.

Nouri emphasized that the supply of essential goods is proceeding normally and without any disruptions. Due to the harvest season and extensive activities of suppliers and importers, the supply is continuing as usual and naturally.

He also noted that the buying, selling, and entry of goods into markets are ongoing. A decline in goods inflow during the travel season is normal due to decreased demand, and where the Ministry of Agriculture Jihad has control, the reduction in imports is managed carefully.

Distribution of goods in some provinces has been controlled and managed to regulate the transfer and supply in provinces with high traveler activity.

Regarding payments to farmers, Nouri stated that the allocated funds will be provided earlier than in previous years. The Planning and Budget Organization is working swiftly to ensure the resources are secured and paid promptly.

He added that there are no significant issues in supplying agricultural inputs; their quantities have increased compared to previous weeks and months, and they are available to producers through the market platform.
