Iran and China Expand Agricultural Cooperation
TEHRAN (Iran News) According to a report from the Iranian Ministry of Agriculture Jihad, Iranian Minister of Agriculture Jihad, Gholamreza Nouri, met with Zhong Peiwu, the Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to Tehran. During the meeting, Nouri emphasized the importance of strengthening bilateral relations in agriculture, particularly in the areas of knowledge transfer and technological collaboration.
Nouri highlighted that both countries possess valuable experience across various sub-sectors of agriculture and can benefit mutually through sharing these insights.
He also underlined Iran’s active participation in the agricultural programs of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) and expressed Iran’s readiness to contribute to the successful organization of the upcoming SCO Agriculture Ministers’ Summit, scheduled to be held in Beijing in August.
Additionally, Nouri extended an invitation to the Chinese Minister of Agriculture to visit Tehran and attend the third meeting of the Iran-China Joint Agricultural Cooperation Committee.
Chinese Ambassador Zhong Peiwu remarked that agricultural relations between Iran and China are at a promising level. He noted that China is currently one of the main destinations for Iranian agricultural exports.
Zhong also reaffirmed China’s willingness to broaden the scope of technical and economic cooperation with Iran across various agricultural fields.
