TEHRAN - The agricultural trade volume between Iran and Pakistan has reached $1 billion in 2024, marking a significant increase, according to Iran’s Minister of Agriculture, Gholamreza Nouri.

TEHRAN (Iran News) As reported by the Ministry of Agriculture’s Information Center, Nouri made this announcement during a meeting with Pakistan’s Ambassador to Tehran, Muhammad Mudassir Tipu. He highlighted that in the first nine months of 2024, trade between the two countries in the agricultural sector saw a remarkable surge, hitting the $1 billion milestone.

During the meeting, the Iranian minister emphasized the need to follow up on agreements between the two nations, particularly in the areas of animal and plant quarantine, to facilitate smoother trade.

Ambassador Tipu reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to enhancing quarantine and customs infrastructure to boost agricultural trade. He also noted the crucial role of agricultural products in overall trade between the two countries.

Both sides agreed to hold a Joint Agricultural Cooperation Committee meeting in Tehran in the near future, with the participation of agriculture ministers from both nations.
