TEHRAN (Iran News) In a telephone conversation on Monday, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi and his Chinese counterpart Wang Yi reviewed the latest developments in the Middle East.
The top Chinese diplomat highlighted his country’s significant and strategic relations with Iran, stressing the need for stepped-up efforts and diplomatic initiatives in cooperation with various regional and international parties in order to prevent an escalation of tensions and insecurity in West Asia.
For his part, Araqchi welcomed China’s efforts to stop the Israeli regime’s warmongering policies and crimes in Gaza and Lebanon.
The Iranian minister also denounced the UN Security Council’s “catastrophic” inaction in the shadow of the US’ obstruction, praising China for its role in contributing to regional peace and security.
The two ministers also talked about the course of relations between Tehran and Beijing and a meeting that the presidents of the two nations are going to hold on the sidelines of a BRICS summit in Russia’s Kazan.
