Efforts to Boost Domestic Tourism Highlighted at Tabriz Exhibition
TEHRAN (Iran News) Speaking in a presser on the sidelines of the event, Rashid Rajabpoor highlighted more details about the event and goals of its holding.
Rajabpoor said that the first goal of the exhibition is to promote tourist potentials of the province and he welcomes any criticism which will improve the quality of the exhibition and tourism in this province.
He went on to say that this year’s event was held in three halls with 65 pavilions in the tourism section with participation of 5 countries like Turkey, Cuba, Tajikistan and the Kurdistan of Iraq, admitting the number was 8 but three countries failed to attend.
He reiterated that the exhibition is aimed at making familiar the visitors with the tourism potentials of the province and even the country.
He then urged Iran’s national broadcasting to show more support for making more colorful the domestic tourism in order to encourage the people to visit the tourist attractions of the province and the country rather than going to other countries.
Rajabpoor then noted that in the past two years, the province has been witnessing blossom in the tourism, as rooms of hotels were occupied by the visitors.
He then noted that some 300 travel and tourism agencies are active in the province and are 180 of them are located in Tabriz.
He then reiterated that the association in collaboration with the East Azerbaijan Department of Cultural Heritage, Tourism, and Handicrafts organizes the event and they are determined to improve the quality in order to attract more visitors for the province.
The 11th National Handicrafts and 3rd International Tourism Exhibition were held in Tabriz, East Azarbaijan, on October 16-19.
