Asia, Africa Leading Actors in Multilateralism: Iran’s Envoy
The representative of Iran in an annual session of the Asian-African Legal Consultative Organization (AALCO) highlighted the role of Asia and Africa in the progress of multilateralism.

TEHRAN (Iran News)  Addressing the 62nd annual session of AALCO, held in Thailand’s Bangkok, Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Reza Najafi said Asian and African nations play a significant role in the advancement of initiatives and activities on the basis of multilateralism.

Warning of the growing threat of terrorism, the Iranian official said, “The international community’s success in the fight against terrorism hinges on the rule of law, effective international cooperation, and strengthened multilateralism.”

He also denounced the Zionist regime’s heinous crimes in Gaza and the Israeli assassination of the Hamas chief in Tehran, saying the Tel Aviv regime has breached all international laws in violation of the International Court of Justice’s verdicts and despite the international community’s call for an immediate end to the genocidal crimes against Palestinians.

The AALCO was founded in November 1956. A total of 48 countries comprising almost all the major states from Asia and Africa are presently members of the organization.
