TEHRAN (Iran News) In a telephone conversation with Foreign Minister of Bahrain Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani on Monday, Ali Baqeri called for serious action to stop the Israeli regime’s atrocities in Gaza, rein in its evil acts in spreading war to Lebanon and Yemen, and punish it for assassinating the head of the political bureau of Hamas, Ismail Haniyeh, in Tehran.
He warned that a muted response to the Zionist regime’s intensified evil acts would be detrimental to regional stability.
“Silence on the (Zionist) regime’s recent measures would be somehow considered as rewarding it,” Baqeri added, stating that Iran reserves the right to retaliation on the basis of international rules.
The Israeli regime assassinated the head of the political bureau of Hamas in Tehran in the early hours of July 31.
Haniyeh, who was in Tehran to attend the new Iranian president’s swearing-in ceremony, was martyred in a special residence after being hit by an aerial projectile.
Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei has warned the Israeli regime of a “harsh response” for Haniyeh’s assassination, calling it the Islamic Republic’s duty to avenge the Palestinian resistance leader’s blood.
