TEHRAN (Iran News) –Rescue and medical teams have assisted over 1600 people affected by a heavy snowfall and blizzard across Iran in the past two days after an alarmingly dry spell, the head of the country’s Relief and Rescue Organization says.
Babak Mahmoudi also said on Monday that the rescue teams in 23 provinces of the country helped hundreds of vehicles unstuck from the frigid roads, and provided shelter for hundreds more snow-hit people.
The rescue teams also distributed blankets, food supplies, and drinking water among those who were trapped in their vehicles in the snow.The heavy snowfall has cuff off access to hundreds of villages, leaving many of them without water and power.
