TEHRAN (Iran News) –The fifth edition of international IRAN EXPO as one of the largest international exhibitions of the country with presence of more than 60 countries will be held on May 17-20 at Tehran’s International Permanent Fairground.
Mehdi Safari, the Deputy Minister of Economic Diplomacy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Iran, in a press conference about the exhibition said that 750 local companies and companies from more than 60 countries will participate in this exhibition at the level of Minister, Advisor to the Minister and Vice President of Trade.
He emphasized: “We will host 1,500 to 2,000 people in this exhibition.”
Pointing out that the policies of the 13th government have always been working with neighboring countries, Africa and Latin America, and emphasizing the export of non-oil goods, Safari said: the leader has always emphasized on economic diplomacy.
Safari further said: “The exhibition has been planned for 8 months ago and all our agencies abroad have been activated.”
He added: “The distinguishing feature of this exhibition is the full financial and work support of the government for the exhibition, and the continuation of this movement is very important.”
750 reputable domestic companies as well as companies from 60 countries, 15 countries at the level of minister and advisor to the minister and many countries at the level of trade deputies, are to attend the event and China is participating with more than 80 traders.
Safari added: “Considering the resumption of relations with Saudi Arabia, a delegation from Saudi Arabia will also participate in this exhibition.”
He noted: “Businessmen participating in this exhibition from the UAE, Pakistan, Russia, Turkey, Africa, and Latin America will visit 12 different petrochemical sectors and different goods, and it is expected that contracts of up to one billion dollars will be signed between Iran and other countries.”
Safari said that one of the characteristics of this exhibition is the services sector like shipping as this sector is a high forex earner and accounts for 70% of forex earning of European countries through services.
He added that to maintain and promote exporting market, the country needs holding such exhibitions.
He said that soon a trade delegation from Saudi Arabia will visit Tehran and in return an Iranian trade delegation will visit Riyadh, adding that Economic Minister is to attend Islamic Banking meeting in Riyadh. He further said that a Saudi trade delegation is to visit IRAN EXPO 2023, too.
On signing agreements during the exhibition on Iran’s exporting capabilities, he said that in Russia some agreements worth of $750m were signed as $100m of it was implemented while in IRAN EXPO 2023, some 60 countries will possible and signing of $1b is possible.
Safari went on to say that the country should improve its infrastructures as currently it has improve comparing to the pas and it has extended its shipping line services to the Latin American and West African countries.
He also said that currently the route has been launched in the Caspian Sea for shipping goods to Russia and soon ro-ro ships in Anzali Port will start working and giving services.
