China’s Investment in Iran Up by 150%
Commercial attache of Embassy of China in Tehran Zhou Zheng in meeting with the secretary general of Tehran Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mine and Agriculture (TCCIMA) Mr. Bahman Eshqi explored ways for boosting cooperation and said that China’s investment in Iran has increased by 150%.

TEHRAN (Iran News) –Commercial attache of Embassy of China in Tehran Zhou Zheng in meeting with the secretary general of Tehran Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mine and Agriculture (TCCIMA) Mr. Bahman Eshqi explored ways for boosting cooperation and said that China’s investment in Iran has increased by 150%.

In the meeting, Mr. Eshqi pointed to the long political and economic cooperation between Iran and China and said reminded that Zhou of the actions taken by the TCCIMA in recent years for broadening economic cooperation between Tehran and Beijing and said that TCCIMA is the only Iranian NGO which has studied thoroughly the 25-year economic cooperation document of Iran and China and it has proposed its comprehensive ideas to Iran’s government on the document.

He added that TCCIMA is ready to expand cooperation between Iran and China and it needs more interaction with the Embassy of China in Tehran especially with the commercial department of the embassy.

Then Zhou hailed the efforts of TCCIMA for efforts to broaden economic cooperation between the two states especially since 2021 and reiterated China’s investment in 2022 increased by 150%.

He noted that this amount of investment in Iran is more than average volume of investment of China in other countries and reiterated that in 2022, the number of signed agreements between the two countries in the joint projects increased 10 fold comparing to the previous year.

He stated that this rise in trade cooperation was impossible without agreement and understanding of political officials of both states and stipulated that the programs of TCCIMA for connecting Iranian and Chines companies and helping the sustainable economic cooperation between the economic activists of the two countries is appreciable.

He also announced readiness of Chinese companies to enter Iran’s market and to cooperate with their Iranian counterparts and added that introducing reputed Iranian companies by TCCIMA and its cooperation with the Embassy of China will pave the ground for broadening much more and better the economic relations and ties of economic enterprises.

Zhou also announced readiness of the embassy for accelerating visa process for economic activists and announced readiness of commercial department of the embassy for cooperation with Chinese companies for getting connected to their Iranian counterparts.
