Tehran, Warsaw Explore Ways for Broadening Economic Ties
During the meeting of Head of Iran Trade Promotion Organization Alireza Peyman-Pak and Ambassador of Poland to Tehran Maciej Falkowski, both sides exchanged views for finding ways for broadening economic ties.

TEHRAN (Iran News) –During the meeting of Head of Iran Trade Promotion Organization Alireza Peyman-Pak and Ambassador of Poland to Tehran Maciej Falkowski, both sides exchanged views for finding ways for broadening economic ties.

In the meeting, Peyman-Pak pointed to Poland’s annual $700b trade volume and said that unfortunately Iran’s share of this market is only around $80m and despite the good relation between the two states this figure is very low and insignificant.

He pointed to the launch of the trade center by Iran in Poland and noted that the center is working to link traders of both countries and expressed hope this link would lead to broadening ties between Iran and Poland.

Payman-Pak also announced readiness of Iran for dispatching trade and economic delegation to Poland and invited Poland’s Health Minister and Ambassador  to visit the exhibition on Iran’s export capabilities which is to be held on May 10 in Tehran.

Then Poland Ambassador Falkowski, for his part, welcomed Mr. Peyman-Pak’s proposal for necessity for broadening trade cooperation between Tehran and Warsaw, emphasizing that Poland is ready to broaden its trade with Iran especially in the fields of foodstuff, petrochemicals and polymer as well as medical equipment.

He then pointed to Iran’s geographical position in the West Asia and suggested Iran to turn into a hub for Poland’s food and agro products in the West Asia.

Then both sides explored ways for broadening bilateral trade cooperation between Tehran and Poland.

Iran–Poland relations are historical and bilateral relationship between the Islamic Republic of Iran and the Republic of Poland.

Both nations have signed several bilateral agreements such as a Friendship Treaty (1927); Agreement on Trade (1952); Agreement on Road Transportation (1976); Agreement of Mutual Support and Protection of Investment (1998); Agreement on the Avoidance of Double Taxation (1998); Agreement on Air Transportation (1999) and an Agreement on Cooperation in the Field of Environmental Protection (2002).
