EESC Begins Joint Interaction With Malaysia
Head of Eurasian Economic Studies Center (EESC) Mr. Mehdi Azadvari announced beginning of joint cooperation with Malaysia after meeting Malaysian Charge d’Affaires to Tehran.

TEHRAN (Iran News) –Head of Eurasian Economic Studies Center (EESC) Mr. Mehdi Azadvari announced beginning of joint cooperation with Malaysia after meeting Malaysian Charge d’Affaires to Tehran.

Azadvari said that the beginning of joint cooperation between EESC and Malaysia was discussed in meeting with Malaysia’s Charge d\Affaires to Tehran Mr. Mohd Nizam Halimi and it was decided easing and reinforcing trade between the two countries and also Eurasia to be operationalized.

He added that Malaysia has one of the most successful economies of Southeast of Asia, noting that this country with population around 25m and land around 330,000 square kilometers enjoys over 7% of GDP and the per capita in this country was around $43,500 in 2004 and its revenue only in tourism was $13b in that year.

Azadvari went on to say that economic boom in Malaysia has prepared a good ground for economic cooperation with that country and many big Malaysian companies are ready for investment in other countries. He reiterated that beside trade of goods and services, Malaysia has always been pursuing attraction of investment in mega projects in Iran and during the visit of a high-ranking economic delegation from Malaysia to Tehran in July, both sides reached some agreements on investment.

He further said that since 60% of Malaysians are Muslims they have special attachment for cooperation with Iran and the grounds for cooperation exist in Iran for Malaysians to cooperate while other countries are deprived of these grounds.

He then pointed to the trade balance and turnover of Malaysia and pointed to the grounds for cooperation with this country.
