Pakistanis Keen to Launch Joint Shipping Line With Iran
Iran’s Ambassador to Pakistan Seyed Mohammad Ali Hosseini during a joint online meeting with the Head of Iran’s Ports and Marine Organization (PMO) Mr. Ali Akbar Safaee said Pakistanis are eager to broaden all-out cooperation with Iran in the field of port and marine transportation especially in launching joint shipping line with Iran.

TEHRAN (Iran News) – Iran’s Ambassador to Pakistan Seyed Mohammad Ali Hosseini during a joint online meeting with the Head of Iran’s Ports and Marine Organization (PMO) Mr. Ali Akbar Safaee said Pakistanis are eager to broaden all-out cooperation with Iran in the field of port and marine transportation especially in launching joint shipping line with Iran.

In the meeting, Safaee said the organization has had several meetings with the neighboring countries, Iranian ambassadors in those countries as well as with ambassadors of those countries in Tehran and discussed ways of cooperation in different part of the port and marine sector.

He announced readiness of the PMO for offering necessary assistance in the marine transportation and in the field of energy field to boost the joint cooperation between the two states.

He added that Pakistan can be a good market for Iran in the field of energy and there are huge interests among Iranians in the oil and petrochemical sector and the country can consider good amount of energy exports to Pakistan but its materialization hinges on Pakistan’s willingness and their involvement for a long-term cooperation.

Then Iran’s Ambassador to Pakistan Hosseini said that there are three agreements between Iran and Islamabad on cooperating in the port and marine sector.

He added that Pakistanis are keen for the launch of the joint shipping line with Iran but there are some obstacles which should be removed and Iran is ready to allocate ship but it hinges on Pakistan’s approval for paying the expenses.

Hosseini stated Pakistanis rely on the launch of the shipping line with Iran, Oman and the UAE, adding that supporting the private sector is of the factors which can be taken into consideration for the joint shipping line. He went on to say that Iran is ready to cooperate with Pakistan in Chabahar and Gwadar Ports.
