Baku Eyes Expanding Trade With Tehran
New Azerbaijan Republic Ambassador to Iran upon his arrival and in the city of Ardabil met officials of Ardabil province and called for expansion of trade with Iran.

TEHRAN (Iran News) – Baku Eyes Expanding Trade With Tehran. New Azerbaijan Republic Ambassador to Iran upon his arrival and in the city of Ardabil met officials of Ardabil province and called for expansion of trade with Iran.

Ali Alizada was welcomed by some officials of Ardabil Province and during the meeting, he said that Azerbaijan officials are eager to double or triple the current trade level with Iran.

He reiterated that Azeri officials support expansion of trade with Iran especially in their border provinces.

Alizada then welcomed the invitation of the governor of Ardabil for an official visit to Ardabil Province and said he will put this invitation on his agenda to meet Ardabil as soon as possible.

The head of coordinating economic affairs in the governorate general of the province called for expansion of trade between Azerbaijan and Ardabil.

Arjang Azizi said border of Iran and Azerbaijan is of the safest borders, adding that due to the cultural, social and religious commonalities, expansion of economic relations have been always emphasized by senior officials of the two states.

He also urged Azerbaijan ambassador to pursue the agreement for the launch of rail loading system at Tazeh Kand border point of Pars Abad.

Alizada arrived in Iran via the land border of Astara and welcomed by the officials of the province.

Iran’s trade with Azerbaijan has been around $194m in the first half of the current year.
