TEHRAN – Secretary of Iran’s Association of the Industries of Household Appliances says the 20th International Exhibition of Home Appliances will be held in Tehran without presence of foreign companies and the public.

Speaking in a press conference, Abbas Hashemi said that this year’s exhibition will be held on December 25-28 with observing all sanitary protocols at the Permanent Fairground of Tehran and in an area around 16,000 square meters with participation of 175 domestic manufacturers.

He said the four-day 20th International Exhibition of Home Appliances will kick off on Friday December 25.

Hashemi blamed the coronavirus for no show-up of foreign companies and producers in this year exhibition which was at first to be held in November.

He said the association had invited China and Turkey to dispatch some of their companies to the exhibition but due to the pandemic and disruptures in flights they have failed to attend this year’s exhibition and no foreign company will attend this year’s exhibition.

Hashemi reiterated that all sanitary protocols like installing disinfectant tunnels at the entrances of the halls of the fairground will be observed.

He admitted that the exhibition will be open for the experts and not for the public, adding that the organizers are to hold some webinars on the sidelines of the exhibition.
