TEHRAN (Iran News) – Protesters clashed with police as hundreds of anti-government demonstrations were held in Tel Aviv against the Israeli government’s lockdown-measures and the prime minister, Benjamin Netanyahu.

A police officer was injured by protesters, as the rally turned violent.

Several thousand protesters were in attendance, as they urged Netanyahu to resign.

The lockdown, put in place to help curb the coronavirus, stopped protesters from gathering outside Netanyahu’s residence in Jerusalem al-Quds.

People are not permitted more than 1 kilometer (0.62 miles) away from their place of residence.

Restrictions on gatherings passed by the Israeli parliament on September 29 ban rallies of more than 20 people amid the COVID-19 lockdown which was re-imposed earlier following a surge in infections.
