TEHRAN (Iran News) – More than a thousand displaced Syrians returned to their homes in the southeastern countryside of Deir ez-Zor province.
According to SANA, more than a thousand citizens returned to the villages and towns of al-Sial, Hasrat, al-Galaa and Qataat al-Boukamal in Deir Ezzor countryside on Sunday.
Syrian army troops secured the families’ arrival and helped them reside in makeshift settlements with all their basic needs provided.
The returnees expressed their happiness and thanked the army for saving them from terrorism.
Daesh terrorists lost territories in Syria between 2017 and 2019. However, since then the terrorist group has been relying on sleeper cells to carry out attacks in the desert regions of the Arab country.
