TEHRAN (Iran News) – The ambassadors of Iran and Syria to Russia discussed ways to broaden relations between Tehran and Damascus.
In a meeting in Moscow on Friday, Iran’s Ambassador to Russia Kazem Jalali and his Syrian counterpart Riyad Haddad talked about ways to promote cooperation between Tehran and Damascus.
They also discussed the latest developments in Syria, the Astana Process for Syria peace, the situation in Syria’s Idlib and the east of the Euphrates, Western sanctions against Syria, and prospect of normalization of ties between a number of Arab governments and the Zionist regime.
In the meeting, the Syrian ambassador denounced the move by certain Arab states to normalize ties with Israel as a big treason, stressing that Damascus is opposed to such a normalization process.
Last month, Bahrain became the fourth Arab government to reach a deal with Israel after Egypt, Jordan and the UAE.
The recent decision from the UAE and Bahrain has drawn fierce criticism from around the Muslim world.
Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei has denounced the United Arab Emirates for betraying the Muslim world and regional nations by establishing ties with the Israeli regime, saying the treason would not last long while such a shame will taint the UAE forever.
