TEHRAN (Iran News) – Persepolis midfielder Bashar Resan said Al-Duhail’s experience and desire to bounce back from its defeat against Sharjah propelled the team to victory but they still have a chance to qualify.
The Iranian team lost to Al-Duhail 1-0 in Group C of the 2020 AFC Champions league.
“It was a difficult match for us because Al-Duhail weas eager to make a comeback after losing the previous match,” said the Iraqi midfielder. “The experience of its players made the difference because they knew how to deal with the situations in the match.
“We missed several chances but we still have a match to play and hopefully we can win in order to advance from the group,” Resan added.
Persepolis will meet Sharjah on Thursday.
