Azar oilfield is on the verge of hitting a production capacity of 65,000 barrels of oil per day by using the ancillary facilities of the Central Processing Facility.

TEHRAN (Iran News) – Azar oilfield is on the verge of hitting a production capacity of 65,000 barrels of oil per day by using the ancillary facilities of the Central Processing Facility (CPF), an energy official announced.

Operator of the Azar oilfield development project Keyvan Yarahmadi said that the oil quantity and quality metering in the joint field will be done soon, reported Fars News Agency.

The ultimate goal of developing this field is to reach a daily production capacity of 65,000 barrels of crude oil from this joint oilfield,” he added.

The official stated, “The cumulative production of this joint field has exceeded 30 million barrels of crude oil.”

Azar oilfield is located in Anaran block, along the Iran-Iraq border.

The Petroleum Engineering and Development Company (PEDEC), as the employer of the project, had announced that the countdown has begun for production of 65,000 bpd of crude oil.

Oil Industry Pension Fund Investment Company (OPIC) as investor of the project, has signed a deal with the Oil Industries Engineering and Construction Company (OIEC) for developing the geophysically complicated field.

Production of 15,000 bpd from the field began in 2016 and nearly doubled in about two months.
