TEHRAN – Head of Iran Chamber of Cooperatives Bahman Abdollahi during his meeting with the specialized commissions of Majlis said materialization of surge in production needs reinforcing economic infrastructures of the country and called for more interactions between the chamber of cooperatives and Majlis.

Mr. Abdollahi said that boosting social assets through the real support of economic activists and winning their trust regarding the establishment decisions will be impossible without real participation of cooperative and private sectors in the process of decision-making on micro and macro-economic decisions.

He expressed his support to the proposed package by Majlis Speaker on making the economy public-centered, emphasized more interactions between chambers of cooperative with Majlis lawmakers on the cooperative issues.

He then pointed to the recent MoUs signed between the chambers with some ministries for facilitating the activities of cooperatives, reiterating these MoUs are valuable opportunities for those involved in cooperative sector to institutionalize cooperative in the country.

Abdollahi then pointed to the 20th International Exhibition of Building and Construction Industry which is to be held on 9-12 August in Tehran. He said despite all restrictions due to the Coronavirus pandemic, the exhibition will be held on time by observing all health protocols. He noted the exhibition has been warmly welcomed by the companies despite the pandemic.

He said the achievements of the exhibition can help a great deal the qualitative and quantitative growth of the leading industry of economy in the construction sector.

Abdollahi also referred to holding International Cooperative Day in Tehran through video conference with officials of Organization International Cooperative Alliance (ICA) and called for maximum utilization of capacities and advantages of ICA for boostng international interactions.
