TEHRAN – Minister of Roads and Urban Development Mohammad Eslami in a telephone talk with Minister of Industry and Infrastructure Development of Kazakhstan Mr. Beibut Atamkulov reviewed ways for boosting cooperation on transportation and transit in rail, road, air and marine fields.

In during their phone talks, both sides emphasized developing strategic cooperation between both states and both sides called for resumption of direct flights by certain airliners.

Both ministers pointed to the resumption of cooperation in the air field after both countries resolved problems in the wake of the Coronavirus pandemic, adding that both sides underscored the resumption of direct flights.

Iranian Minister Eslami announced Tehran’s readiness for three-way meeting with Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan and also announced readiness for four-way talks on the road and rail transit with Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan on the deputy ministers level for resolving the existing problems.

Meanwhile Atamkulov, for his part, announced his country’s readiness for dispatch of more wagons to Iran and called for more cooperation between both countries for efficient utilization of Iran-Turkmenistan-Kazakhstan rail route.

He also called for strengthening the combined transit route of north-south Caspian and using port capacities of both states in the Caspian Sea.

Both sides also discussed other issues like cooperating in the management of Kuryk Port of Kazakhstan by Iranian side, holding joint marine and port meeting for resolving problems.

The Kazakh minister also called for cooperation with Iran in technical and engineering fields especially in the southern port and construction of warehouse.

Resolving banking problem and creating a new banking channel for transactions were of the other topics which were discussed during this telephone talk between the both ministers.
