IRAN NEWS ECONOMIC DESK
TEHRAN – Iran being blacklisted by the Financial Action Task Force (FATF) will not affect the country’s rating in World Bank’s Doing Business Environment, head of Iran’s National Center for Monitoring Business Environment said.
Speaking to ILNA, Ali Firouzi said that Iran’s presence on the FATF black list will not directly affect Iran’s position in the World Bank Doing Business Environment rankings because one of the factors during the ranking is that the country should not be under sanctions.
He admitted that although the World Bank has announced that sanctions are not taken into consideration in its rankings, one cannot ignore the impacts of sanctions on Iran’s international trade.
Firouzi added that the center has identified 60 measures for the country to take in order to improve its position in the rankings. He reiterated that all those 60 items can be implemented in the country.
He said if the country presents the real information and details to the World Bank, it will definitely improve its position in the rankings.
He reiterated the cooperation of all branches of the establishment is necessary for implementing those 60 steps to improve the business environment.
