President: Economic Indicators Prove Iran’s Victory over Sanctions
According To Iran News, Iranian President Hassan Rouhani highlighted the stable economic conditions in the country, saying economic indicators reflect the fact that Iran has successfully overcome the sanctions.
In an address to a gathering of foreign ambassadors and representatives of foreign organizations in Tehran on Monday, Rouhani emphasized that the US sanctions and policy of maximum pressure against Iran are aimed at every single Iranian individual.
He lashed out at US President Donald Trump’s administration for violating the UN Security Council Resolution 2231 and for committing crimes against Iran.
Dismissing the US claim that medicine, foodstuff or plane parts have been exempted from the sanctions, the president said, “The US has mounted its pressure on the people and on our country everyday over the past 20 months.”
However, he added, “All economic indicators in the last eight months indicate that we have emerged victorious under the sanctions, and the US has not been successful in any of its plots (against Iran).”
Although the Iranian people are enduring many problems, the current conditions in Iran are stabile, the president said, stressing, “We have managed the country very well in the last and the current (Iranian calendar) year.”
Rouhani also said that his administration has not asked for foreign loans, nor has it needed to borrow from the Central Bank of Iran.
