Rootless Artist Is Nothing But Weeds
Iraqi TV Channel Dijlah recounted a story whose translation is that this part of the world has been struggling with something which is a social problem, called “treason”.

The more we review Iran’s history, the more we find signs of treasons which match this story of Dijlah TV as the TV recounts during the era of occupation of Iraq by British forces, once British General Sunny Maude was visiting one of the mountainous regions in Iraq, he met a shepherd who was busy with playing with his sheepdog. The general stood for a while watching the shepherd and his dog. He asked his accompanying translator to approach the shepherd and ask him whether he was ready to kill his dog in exchange of getting one pound ( by getting one pound, the shepherd could buy half of his herd). The shepherd got the money and killed his dog. The general then asked the shepherd to slaughter the dog for one more pound and he did it. He then asked the shepherd to chop the dog for another pound and he did it. After watching the shepherd’s full obedience, the general smiled and resumed his tour.
The shepherd, greedy of getting more money, without noticing that how the general would benefit from this generosity, ran after the general and told him he was ready to cook the dog for another pound.
The general who had a smile on his face replied to the shepherd, “No More! I just wanted to see the traditions and behaviors of people in this country and I saw it and I found whatever I wanted, and I noticed that you killed, slaughtered and chopped your dog who was your close friend, and I know if I pay more pound you will cook it.”
The general turned to his accompanying military forces and said, “As long as there are such shepherds in this country, you need not worry about anything.” It is an irony to the people which are sold out with the least price and they are ready to leave their dearest things, and as long as such people exist in the region, it does not need to focus on the power of weapons and they should be more focused on their money to buy such shepherds.
In fact this story reminds me of the interview of Italian journalist Oriana Fallaci with British Prime Minister Winston Churchill where she asked him whether the sun did not set in British lands. It was also an irony to Churchill that the British dominated the world but they were unable to tackle with its tiny neighboring country of Ireland. And Churchill’s response was very interesting as he said, “In order to rule over the world, we rely on treacherous inside elements and ignorant people but we find none of them in Ireland.”
And today in Iran, regardless of those traitors who pushed the national economy towards making the people poorer, there are other traitors in the cinema and movie industry of the country who side with enemies due to their fame in order to stand against the grandeur of this nation and they think with going on strike and boycotting Fajr Festivals can harm the establishment.
Of course, one should say that this worthless commodity had to be screened and refined one day by the Islamic Republic and the people, and good for the people and the establishment that they themselves made it easy for the establishment and people. Meanwhile, one day the secret behind this corrupt cultural freemasonry would have been exposed who was always at loggerhead with the establishment and it now happened by themselves.
Lack of root is a behavior which follows the human being like a shadow and whenever one boasts of it, it will unmask his true nature. This is the innovation of the history. This is the philosophy of vice versus virtue. That we know “vice dominates only for a while but virtue will dominate forever” is an indication to this.
The fake, corrupt, and exposable commodity will sooner or later do stink. So there is a reason that it has been said in this line of poem, “Artist’s conscience does not lie in vibration and the rootless artist is nothing but a weed.”
