Iran Exports to Russia Up 41%

Iran’s exports to Eurasian states have grown by 72 percent and reached $783m in the first three quarters of current Iranian calendar year and exports to Russia have witnessed growth over 41 percent.
Spokesman to Iran Customs Administration Seyed Ruhollah Latifi said the volume of Iran’s exports to five countries of Armenia, Belarus, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan and Russia in three quarters of the current year has been 2.51m tons worth $783m and the figure shows that the exports have grown 116 percent in terms of weight and 72 percent in terms of value.
He also noted that the total imports of Iran from the Eurasian Union members in the same period have been over 2.27m tons in terms of weight worth $991m and this figure shows 47 percent growth in terms of weight and 7 percent fall in terms of value.
Latifi noted that Iran and Eurasian Union states have signed an agreement over preferential discount for some imported and exported goods and it came into effect on October 27.
He also pointed to Eurasian Union states’ shares in Iran’s trade, adding that Iran’s exports to those countries have been around 2.42 percent of its non-oil exports in terms of weight so far this year and 2.46 percent in terms of value.
Latifi further said the Russia was the major trade partner of Iran among Eurasian Union states and Iran’s total exports to Russia stood at $277m while its imports were around $864m and the figure indicates that Iran’s exports to Russia have grown by 41 percent but the value of imports from Russia has declined by 7 percent.
He stated that the most improvement in trade with Eurasian Union states was with Armenia, noting that Iran’s imports from Armenia have grown by 49 percent and reached $31m and exports to Armenia have grown by 169 percent, reaching $343.
