More Villages Recaptured by Syrian Army in Southern Idlib
According To Iran News, Syrian army forces managed to retake a number of more village from Takfiri militants in the southeastern countryside of Idlib province, following intensifies clashes with terrorists.
Syrian troops liberated the villages and farms of Halban, Samaka, Tal Khatra and Khirbet Nawwaf after inflicting heavy casualties upon terrorists’ ranks and equipment in the southeastern countryside of Idlib province, according to a report by SANA.
Army units operating in the direction of Abu al-Dohour village engaged in fierce clashes with al-Nusra Front terrorists and their affiliated groups who tried to use foggy weather conditions to their benefit and attacked the army positions in the region, but faced the army’s tough defenses, which ended with the Syrian troops liberating the villages and their neighboring agricultural areas in the direction of Abu al-Dohour- Ma’aret al-Nu’aman, the report added.
The Syrian Armed Forces General Command on Tuesday announced the liberation of more than 320 square kilometers and the entry to more than 40 towns and villages in Idlib southeastern countryside since the army operation began against al-Nusra Front and other terrorist organizations in the province.
On August 5, the Syrian army declared in a statement the start of an offensive against foreign-sponsored militants in Idlib after those positioned in the de-escalation zone failed to honor a ceasefire brokered by Russia and Turkey and continued to target civilian neighborhoods.
