Iran, Australia Have Eye on Working on Joint Production, Marketing
The specialized Forum on Iran’s Foodstuff Market 2020 was held yesterday by Joint Iran-Australia Chamber at Iran’s Chamber of Commerce of Commerce in presence of Australian Ambassador to Tehran Lindall Sachs and Head of Australian Trade and Investment Commission (Austrade)’s Office in the Middle East Mr. Ian Halliday.

TEHRAN – The specialized Forum on Iran’s Foodstuff Market 2020 was held yesterday by Joint Iran-Australia Chamber at Iran’s Chamber of Commerce of Commerce in presence of Australian Ambassador to Tehran Lindall Sachs and Head of Australian Trade and Investment Commission (Austrade)’s Office in the Middle East Mr. Ian Halliday.

During the forum, economic activists of both countries exchanged views with an eye on exploring the investment opportunities and developing foodstuff market of Iran and its neighboring countries. Addressing the meeting, head of Iran-Australia Joint Chamber of Commerce Mr. Hamid Reza Managhebi reviewed recent economic ups and downs especially after reimposition of the U.S. unilateral sanctions, and explained short-term, mid-term and long-term goals for developing cooperation with Australia.

He added that Iran’s food industry due to its access to a 400-million people market of its neighboring states needs reconstruction and utilizing advanced technology.

Managhebi added that cooperation and implementation of joint production and marketing programs between Iran and Australia is a unique opportunity for Australian counterpart to expand its market in the region due to lack of rivals because of sanctions.

Mr. Halliday, for his part, pointed to the economic and technical capabilities, expressing hope that cooperation between economic activists of Iran and Australia would continue.

He also pointed to the active role of Austrade which is located in Australian Embassy in Tehran and its services for Iranian economic activists and producers.

Representatives from food, dairy and agro industries explored ways for joint cooperation.

Both sides also reviewed the condition of marine transportation and Iranian government’s support from foreign investment.
