TEHRAN – Head of Mostazafan Foundation Mr. Parviz Fattah says he will not run for presidency in the upcoming presidential election.

Speaking at a press conference, Fattah reiterated that he would not definitely run for the presidency, adding that he is more focused on his job in the foundation.

He also hailed his predecessor in the foundation Mr. Saeedi Kia, adding that the foundation owes its progress to him.

Fattah went on to say that he takes advantage of experience of former heads of the foundation.

On the revenues of the foundation in the past nine months, he said that there has been no change in revenues or management in the said period, adding that the total sales of the foundation in the past nine months stood at 26,000b tomans which is ahead of the schedule.

Fattah said that the foundation has 174 registered companies and 169 out of them are currently active. He admitted that 36 companies are loss-making and the reason for it is the fluctuation in the forex rate.

He reiterated that the foundation is not exempted from taxes and it paid 670b tomans of tax in 2017. He noted that the tax for this year would reach 1,000b tomans.

Fattah went on to say that all incomplete projects will be completed, adding that Tehran-North Freeway and Plasco Building are of major projects of the foundation which should be completed.

He added that the foundation has had laid off some of its employees and all salaries have been paid on time and he is determined to stop more lay-offs in the foundation.

Fattah said that some 45,000 people are busy in the foundation. He also pointed to his meeting with President Hassan Rouhani, adding that the foundation will be in full harmony with the government.

He reiterated that the foundation does not rival with the private sector and it is not also a parallel body to the government and the foundation will soon leave the small businesses.

Fattah also said that the foundation is to build 14,000 houses for the households with two disabled members and the houses will be submitted to the applicants.

He once again reiterated that there is no secret issue in the foundation and all supervisory bodies inspect activities of the foundation.

He noted that 31 companies of the foundation have been listed in the stock market and the process will continue for other companies.

Fattah stated that the foundation is not interested in mall business and it just tries to finish incomplete mall projects in order to save its capital.

He further said that the foundation is determined to complete the Tehran-North Freeway and it is expected the first part of it to be inaugurated in February.
