Boris Jonson More Convergent With Trump
As we follow the international news in the media, the issue of Britain’s pull out of European Union (EU), known as the Brexit, has become the hottest issue in UK which is crucial in the country’s relation with EU and it is because any scenario about the way Britain is to pull out of the union either with deal or without deal would have great impact on the country, Europe and even, to some extent but not significantly, on the country’s economy, its financial banking and monetary relations with the world.

Regarding the significant share and role of Britain’s banking system and its financial influence on the international and Europe’s economy, any one of these scenarios can have either positive or negative consequences for Britain, EU and, to some extent, the world.
In the latest development on the issue, Britain’s House of Commons voted for new agreement between British Prime Minister Boris Johnson and EU but it did not set any fixed date for reviewing it. So we have noticed that the outline of the Brexit deal has been approved by the House of Commons but its details need more time to be debated. Of course, it is natural that the set deadline of October 31 was actually impossible for materializing the Brexit. So Jonson had to postpone the deadline in order to accomplish his plan as he has accepted EU’s extension of Brexit deal until January 31.
This will give good opportunity to Johnson’s rival Jeremy Corbyn to begin move for impeaching Johnson in the parliament, the same thing which happened for former British Prime Minister Theresa May last year and history is being repeated.
Ms. May reached an agreement with EU on the Brexit but the House of Commons rejected it three times and on the verge of fourth voting, Ms. May had to resign from her job because she had no hope over the approval of the deal in the parliament.
Then Jonson took office and since the beginning, he put the Brexit on his agenda and threatened that Britain would pull out of the EU by October 31. In order to stop parliament members from creating hurdles for his plan of the Brexit, Johnson got the nod from British Queen to suspend the parliament but lawmakers, by approving some laws and resorting to some tricks as well as getting help from the English High Court’s ruling, did not let the House of Commons be shut down.
The parliament even made Jonson write to EU for extending the Brexit deal for three months, namely, till January 31.
In order to prevent from repetition of previous scenarios, the House of Commons approved the outline of new Johnson’s agreement with the EU but details of the agreement like situation of borders between Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland and also the future of Northern Ireland in the EU Customs Union which is considered a complicated issue were left to future discussions and votings.
Of course EU in recent agreement with Britain has given big concession to the UK by leaving border issue but even this has its own serious opponents. These opponents either in UK or overseas have great political influence; so more turbulent bumps are expected ahead for both regions.
Of course it goes without saying that UK will leave the EU either with deal or without deal. Ultimately the important thing which will happen is that UK upon the U.S. demand and in order to become stronger against European states would become more convergent with the U.S. because UK is facing with a fragile economy and it will be unable to be alone against a united current like EU.
In the past, the U.S. used to take advantage of UK as flywheel in order to slow down the pace of euro’s growth against dollar and today these measures will find new situation due to convergence between Jonson and the U.S. President Donald Trump. Of course this does not please the Britons because they have always pretended to be convergent with the U.S. but they were actually unhappy because of Americans’ penetration in the geographical kingdom of Britain during the neocolonialism and decline of British power, and this hidden grudge is seen through hatred in the British cultural institution and sometimes they are exposed through proxies.
