Where on the JCPOA Is Europe Standing?
In Persian language sometimes proverbs act like a book. Regarding this issue that I mean, there is in Persian language a proverb which says” he steals a march on somebody.” This means the guy is himself guilty but tries to show him innocent.

In this regard, English newspaper the Guardian revealed that Europeans in recent days, approximately one week after the United Nations General Assembly meeting ended, and in a meeting has warned Iranian government that if it takes the fourth step of scaling back from its JCPOA commitments, they will leave the JCPOA and they use trigger mechanism which will automatically activate the return of all international sanctions against Iran. The question is here that no sanction has been left to be enacted and so far Europeans have been in compliance with all U.S. sanctions and they have refrained from fulfilling their own JCPOA commitments. So they are empty-handed and they have nothing but to threaten Iran with more sanctions and to act as the accomplice of the U.S.
By the way Iran’s diplomatic system’s officials should stop passivity or any fear for confronting such void threats by relying on the nation’s resistance inside and military superiority and power in the region, and use these advantages in the political scene. Because in case of any passivity and giving concession even, according to the government spokesman, “a petty change”, active resistance will turn into an inactive resistance and it will make diplomatic power ineffective and it will encourage Americans and Europeans everything is Ok for continuing their pressures. So if the government officials do not incline towards negotiations by the yearend, sanctions and maximum pressure will become inactive. On the other hand, American officials may resort to tactical hype till the end of the year in order not to lose their sanctions lever, and if Iranian officials fall in trap of those tactical hypes and seat at the negotiations table , the dead sanctions with this shock of talks will revive again and the confrontation of the U.S. with Iran once again would repeat and it would back to square one.
The same is what happened to the JCPOA and today even Europeans are dodging from respecting their JCPOA commitments, and without doing the least regarding their commitments, they threat Iran boldly of their quitting the JCPOA. One should tell them that after the U.S. pullout of the JCPOA, you have followed the U.S. and it was only Iran that has actually remained committed to the JCPOA because of its 12th government diplomatic team’s initiative. What a nonsense claim and bluff that they talk about pulling out of the JCPOA! Have you ever remained committed to the JCPOA that you want to pull out of it? Here the Iranian proverb of “They steal a march on us” suits their behavior.
Great, vigilant and revolutionary nation of Iran recommends the government not to be fooled by the void ultimatum of Europeans at all and to use the Supreme Leader’s warning as their policy, and by stopping fully pinning their hope on Europeans and probable U.S. return to the JCPOA, they should consider the JCPOA a dead matter and focus on the domestic and nation’s power for pick-up in the production.
Considering the JCPOA a dead matter means that from now on, the government should see any talks on this issue as waste of time and energy for the country, as previous political and diplomatic talks were in vain because of hegemonic attitude of the opposite sides.
If before accepting all conditions of the opposite side during the nuclear deal and cementing Arak Heavy Water Reactor, the country had set step-by-step condition, today the U.S. and Europe would not have dared to pull out of the deal and discrediting them.
History and previous experiences show that Europe has always acted as a lever for materializing the U.S. ambitions and wherever Europe has claimed it is independent, its claim has let the side down. So trusting and depending on such a creature does not seem wise. Regardless of all dimensions of these relations, it draws us towards a new chapter of decision-making and the country would take advantage of blessings of the sanctions for getting rid of excessive imports and oil sales.
Sanction is two sides of a coin as one side shows the discredit of the West and the other side is to take advantage of blessings of Europe’s closed doors for return to Iranian self.
