India Out of Iran’s Top Five Exports Destinations

TEHRAN – According to the latest report and study of Tehran’s Chamber of Commerce, India has moved out of Iran’s top five exports destinations.
The report shows that the value of goods exported to China has grown by 10 percent and in return the value of goods imported from China has fallen by 3 percent in the first half of the year.
According to Iran Customs Administration statistics, the value of goods which have been exported in the first half of the year stood at $21b excluding the crude oil exports, and the value of the imported goods in the same period was $21.2 percent. In terms of value, Iran’s imports and exports of goods witnessed 6 and 11 percent decline in the first half of the year comparing to the same period in the preceding year. While the imports and exports of goods in terms of weight have grown by 0.41 and 22.5 percent.
By comparing the list of the destinations for Iranian goods, one can see that India is no longer among top five destinations for Iran’s exports but Turkey has improved its position comparing to the preceding year.
The report also indicates that Iran’s goods trade balance without oil revenues has faced with $273,000 deficit.
China has retained its top spot among Iran’s exports destinations as the statistics show that exports of goods by Iran to China have grown by 5 percent in the first year comparing to the same period last year.
Turkey and the UAE are the other major destinations for Iran’s goods. The figures show that Iran’s exports of goods to the UAE have faced with 42 percent of decline in the first half while the country’s imports from the UAE have witnessed 48 percent growth.
Meanwhile China has also been the top importer of goods from Iran in the same period.
