During the meeting, Malaysian Ambassador H.E. Yahya said that banking system and transportation are the major challenges for enhancing the current economic cooperation.

He also pointed to the high cost of insurance for shipping services comparing to the past years and called for more talks in order to find ways for skirting the sanctions.
H.E. Yahya also announced that Malaysian Prime Minister is to pay a visit to Tehran in October and called for holding a trade forum between business activists of Iran and Malaysia concurrent with Malaysian Prime Minister’s visit.
The Malaysian diplomat also announced that the joint Iran-Malaysia commission is to meet by the yearend and soon the details and date of the meeting will be announced.
Meanwhile Mr. Karbasi, for his part, expressed his satisfaction over Malaysian Prime Minister’s visit to Tehran and invited Malaysian investors for investment, noting that Chabahar port is exempted from sanctions and Malaysia can transport its goods via this port.
He also announced the readiness of Iran’s chamber for holding a trade forum for business activists of both countries concurrent with Malaysian Prime Minister’s visit to Tehran.
Deputy Head of Karaj Chamber of Commerce Mr. Rahim Banamolaee who was present in the meeting said that factories in Alborz Province especially pharmaceutical plants are good opportunity for strengthening trade cooperation and joint investments, and called for establishing markets in Africa for joint Iranian-Malaysian made products.
He pointed to the good experience of Malaysia in hotel construction, adding that Iranian tourism industry activists can take advantage of this capacity.
Banamolaee went on to say that in order to solve financial and banking problems, it is better to launch a joint financial institute and joint marketing.
Barter trade, joint production without transfer of money and planning for exchange of tourists were of the other topics which were discussed during the meeting.
