Business Activists Only Want Economic Security
TEHRAN – Head of Iran’s Chamber of Commerce says 50 to 60 percent of businesses in the country are in danger of collapse due to modern technology and it will lead to unemployment of many people.

Addressing a conference entitled “Youth Entrepreneurship, Work, and Future” yesterday, Gholam-Hossein Shafei said that result of some researches show that 50 to 60 percent of businesses in the world are changing and by using advanced technologies, many people lose their jobs. He added that today a question is raised whether entrepreneurship could create new businesses or they threaten previous jobs.

He added that entrepreneurship plays important role in materializing the economic goals  in the societies especially in Iran whose population average age is 31 and the youths are ready to move in the path of development

He admitted that unfortunately some problems have paved the ground for brain drain, unemployment of educated persons, lack of experts, decline in investments and passiveness and fall in economic growth.

He went on to say that according to the Global Indicators of Entrepreneurship, Iran’s entrepreneurship rank climbed 13 steps in 2018.

Although effective and positive steps have been taken in this regard, Islamic Republic of Iran has not a favorable rank in the field of entrepreneurship.

He said, “today, moving towards development and growth is not a choice for countries, rather, it is a definite requirement.”

With their proper planning, different countries in the world have stepped up their development and growth according to their own requirements,he said and called on responsible officials and organizations to take effective steps in this regard.

However, entrepreneurs play a leading role in realization of objectives of a society, so that the country enjoys high potentials and capabilities to take giant step in this field optimally, Shafei emphasized.

Chairman of ICCIMA Shafei once again called on concerned officials to pave suitable ways for entrepreneurs in order to materialize objectives in this field.

He reiterated that business activists in the private sector lacks economic security and they are even unable to predict their future for the next month, noting that all are in standby mode and waiting for investment or they should enough brave to take risk to begin a business.
