Iran’s Foreign Ministry spokesperson said Tehran has released two Kuwaiti nationals who had been arrested for illegal entry into Iranian waters.

In an interview with YJC on Wednesday, Foreign Ministry Spokesman Abbas Mousavi confirmed that the two Kuwaiti detainees have been released as a gesture of goodwill.

The two were held in custody for illegal entry into Iran’s territorial waters, but were released and taken to Kuwait’s embassy in Tehran after investigation determined that they had crossed the border unintentionally, he added.

The daily Kuwait Times has named the two men Adnan Al-Kharafi and Fahd Al-Alyan.
