Kadkhodaee said that the bill will lead to drop in participation of people in the election and it ignores the rights of candidates and citizens.

He went on to say that justice has not been observed in the bill.  He added that there are several ambiguities in the bill and legislators have failed to clarify some items in the bill.

Kadkhodaee reiterated that four items of the bill are against Sharia and the Constitutions.

He reiterated that the Guardian Council essentially has no problem with holding elections in provincial level but the methods and ways for holding is against the rights of citizens.

He noted that the bill has not observed the general policies which have been set by the Supreme Leader.

He said that the council has rejected some non-Persian terms in the bill like “placard” and “Idea”.

Kadkhodaee reiterated that there were some ambiguities in the bill about the candidates from religious minorities and there were some contradictions in the items.

He asserted that in some paragraphs of the bill, the legislators aimed to ban any defamation of candidates but it actually has banned criticism and it should be redefined and clarified.

The spokesman said that if this bill is amended and approved in time it could be implemented for the upcoming election in March otherwise next elections could be held based on this bill if it is approved.

He once again reiterated that the GC abides by the law and nothing more or less.
