Speaking in a Monday meeting with a group of police commanders, General Soleimani, Chief Commander of the IRGC Quds Force, said “vigilant and intellectual Iranian people believe holding negotiation with the enemy at this juncture would mean submission.”

“We will definitely not accept to do such humiliating act,” said General Soleimani, the commander of the Quds Force of Iran’s Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC).
He said the way to tackle the enemy’s economic pressure is to implement the Resistance Economy (economic resilience) strategy as recommended by Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei.
“The enemy wants to draw us to the negotiating table by imposing economic pressure. This kind of negotiation is just as good as giving in, but our people are vigilant and smart and believe that negotiating with the enemy in the current situation is a clear act of surrendering. We certainly will not bow to this ignominy,” he said
Today, the U.S. and its allies resort to relying on illegitimate governments in the region, he said, adding that Iran’s military has reached maturity.
The more the enemies threaten Iran, the more costs they will have to pay, he highlighted.
He also hailed the performance and bravery of the law enforcement staff and compared them with the unknown soldiers.
Earlier in the day, Iranian Parliament Speaker Ali Larijani also said holding talks with the United States is a “strategic mistake.”
Recently, Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif floated the idea of a prisoner swap between Iran and the US. In an interview with Fox News, Zarif also implicitly expressed Tehran’s readiness for talks.
