The 27-year-old forward will reportedly join Esteghlal in Antalya camp to participate in the training.
Friday started his playing career at Africa Sports in 2011 and has also played at Serbian clubs Napredak Kruševac and Mladost Lučani, Emirati Al-Fujairah and Turkish football team Konyaspor.
Esteghlal coach Winfried Schaefer is going to sign him as a replacement for Alhaji Gero.
The Blues are preparing for the second half of the Iran Professional League (IPL) season.
Esteghlal is a favorite to win IPL title as the team sits fifth in the table, six points behind the leader Sepahan.
Esteghlal will start the IPL season second half with a match against Paykan on February 3.
