Chief of Staff of Iranian president Mahmoud Vaezi said that strengthening ties between Iran and Turkey benefits both nations and also the region.
He made the remarks in a late Friday meeting with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.
Vaezi presented a report on his talks with the Turkey’s high-ranking officials and the agreements reached on President Rouhani’s upcoming visit to Ankara for attending the 5th round of Meeting of Iran-Turkey High Council of Strategic Cooperation.
He went on to say that Iran is ready to promote all-out ties with Turkey, adding that Iran does not recognize limits to the expansion of relations with Turkey, especially in trade and economic sectors.
Highlighting the need for accelerating the implementation of agreements and easing cooperation among the two countries’ economic sectors, Vaezi added that common views of the two countries’ presidents over bilateral, regional and international issues is an important factor in increasing mutual cooperation.
For his part, Erdoğan expressed pleasure over the growing trend of bilateral ties, and said that President Rouhani’s upcoming visit to Ankara is an ample opportunity for strengthening these ties.
Turkish president maintained that promoting ties with Iran is of strategic significance for Turkey.
