The 9th edition of Iran International Air Show has kicked off in the Persian Gulf Island of Kish.
Several high-ranking Iranian officials including minister of defense, commander of Air Force, vice president for science and technology, head of Civil Aviation Organization, CEO of Kish Free Zone Organization, head of Cultural Heritage and Tourism Organization, secretary of Supreme Council of Free Trade Zones, as well as a number of civil aviation officials have participated in the biennial event.
According to IKACNews, Iran International Air Show is the most important event in the country’s civil aviation industry which was first launched 18 Years ago in Kish island and has been regularly held once every two years ever since.
This year’s air show is held amid International pressures on Iran including the US unilateral sanctions and is aimed at boosting interaction among the organizations involved in Iran’s aviation sector and showcasing the country’s domestic capabilities in this regard.
115 aviation companies, including 105 Iranian and 10 foreign companies, have taken part in this year’s exhibition.
Officials from Iran’s Air Force, Islamic Revolution Guards Corps Aerospace Force, Civil Aviation Organization of Iran, Iran Aviation Industries Organization, Iranian aviation faculties, and research centers as well as Iran Helicopter Support and Renewal Company, have attended the international air show.
Imam Khomeini International Airport City Company, is one the major firms attending the air show, with the aim of displaying its latest achievements in the aviation sector as well as developing logistic infrastructure in free and special trade zones.
Iran International Airshow opened on November 5 and will be underway until November 29.
The expo which is held in Kish island will feature aerial shows by The Russian Mig-29 team, Baltic Bees Jet Team from Latvia as well as other teams every day from 14:00 to 16:00 (local time).
