In a meeting between Iranian Central Bank Governor Abdolnaser Hemmati and his Russian counterpart Elvira Nabiullina in Moscow on Thursday, the two sides stressed the need for the expansion of banking cooperation between Iran and Russia.
Using national currencies of the two countries in bilateral trade was the main pivot of the negotiations between the two sides, according to Hemmati who travelled to Russia on the head of a high-ranking delegation.
Financing the joint development projects was the other issue discussed between the central bankers.
During the meeting, Nabiullina welcomed all issues mentioned by her Iranian counterpart and expressed hope that cooperation between the banking systems of Iran and Russia will be expanded in the near future based on the roadmap agreed by the two sides.
