Iranian students who had participated in the 5th edition of Expo-Sciences Asia in South Korea, gained 10 gold medals and one special international award.
Organized by MILSET, Expo-Sciences Asia 2018 was held in Daejeon, South Korea, from October 18 to 23.
Gold medalists of Iran in the event are Shayan Asef and Elham Zare in engineering, Kian Aftabzadeh in new energies, Mahdiyeh Ghasemzadeh and Shaghayegh Emadi in chemistry, Sajjad Ahmadi in Bioelectromagnetics, Fatemeh Shojaee in architecture, Mohammad Kazemi and Mohammad Soleimani in neuroscience, Fatemeh Hassanpour in astronomy, and Hania Jebeli and Hania Ahmadi in the nanotechnology. Also, Nazanin Barzi pocketed a gold medal besides an especial international award in Nanochemistry.
Iranian students also had a meeting with the Iranian ambassador to South Korea Saeed Badamchi Shabestari. The envoy appreciated the students’ efforts and presented them with some awards.
The MILSET Expo-Sciences Asia (ESA) is a non-competitive regional science fair of the MILSET Expo-Sciences International held every other year since 2010. It aims to promote scientific culture among young people around the world with their projects through a scientific exhibition in a multi-cultural environment. The programs of the ESA includes the exhibition of scientific projects, cultural and scientific visits, leisure activities, workshops, animation, and conferences.
The International Movement for Leisure Activities in Science and Technology (MILSET – Mouvement International pour le Loisir Scientifique et Technique) is a non-governmental, non-profit and politically independent youth organization, which aims at developing scientific culture among young people through the organization of science-and-technology programmes, including science fairs, science camps, congresses and others activities of high quality.
