“Silence” by Iranian director Maryam Pirband will be competing in the Portland Deaf Film Festival in the U.S., the organizers have announced.
The film is about a young mother who has a difficult job. She cleans the outside of tall buildings when she is supported by ropes. One day something strange happens to her, and she saves a human life.
The organizers of the one-day festival that will be held on October 6 have said that their “mission is to create a space in which the deaf community’s talents are showcased and embraced through visual media.”
