Iran international midfielder Saeid Ezatolahi has joined Championship side Reading in a season-long loan deal from Russian outfit FC Rostov.
Ezatolahi is unlikely to be ready to play this weekend against Sheffield Wednesday, but could feature after the international break.
Ezatolahi is the club’s ninth signing overall of the summer.
The 22-year-old player, who has also been on the books of Atletico Madrid, played for his country at the World Cup earlier this summer and started matches against Spain and Portugal.
“I’m very happy we have been able to sign Saeid on loan within 24 hours of this transfer window closing. Saeid is a strong, powerful central midfield player with good technical ability, Reading coach Paul Clement said.
“He has experience playing at the highest level with both the Iranian national team and domestically with his current side FC Rostov and in time spent in Spain with Atlético Madrid. Now, I’m really looking forward to getting to work with him on the training pitch,” he added.
