Russia’s military said it had shot down two unidentified drones that attacked its Syrian airbase at Hmeimim military airport Saturday and Sunday, Russian agencies reported.
The attacks caused no casualties or damage and the Hmeimim military airport is operating as normal, Interfax said.
In January, Russia said that its troops had successfully repelled multiple drone attacks launched by militants on its naval and air bases in Syria.
Russia has been conducting air raids against terrorist outfits in Syria at the Damascus government’s request since September 2015.
Moscow has also maintained a naval group in the Mediterranean since the start of its anti-terror campaign in the war-ravaged Arab country.
