In a match held on Monday in Gorgan, Iran’s team smashed Jordan and topped the group ranking.
The 2018 edition of WABA U16 Championship is underway with national teams of Iran, Jordan, Iraq, Lebanon, and Syria in attendance. The event kicked off on Saturday in Iran’s Northern city of Gorgan and it will wrap up on August 2.
In their first match on Saturday, Iranian basketball team managed to win Iraq 91-36.
“We had less mistakes compared to the first match and we hope that this trend would continue,” said Iran’s coach Ali Arezoumandi after the game. He went on to say that the match against Lebanon will be Iran’s most important game of the event since “they have a higher level compared to other rivals.” Iranian squad will face Lebanon today.
