Deputy Culture Minister for Press Affairs Mohammad Soltanifar said that the journalists’ summit of Caspian littoral states will soon be held with cooperation of Iran and Azerbaijan.
He made the remarks after his Friday meeting with the Chairman of Azerbaijan Press Council Aflatun Amashov in Azerbaijan.
Touching upon agreements between the two countries to enhance media cooperation, Soltanifar went on to say that Iran will hold special training courses to transfer regarding journalism experiences to Azerbaijani journalists.
The two countries will soon adopt required measures to hold journalists’ summit of Caspian littoral states, Amashov told IRNA on Friday.
Some 300 million people live in this region, he said, adding that holding this summit will be major step in boosting regional ties.
Some Iranian officials, including Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance Abbas Salehi, are in Azerbaijan to attend Iranian cultural festival which is being held in Baku and Ganja cities.
