TEHRAN – The Yunus Emre Institute, a Tehran-based Turkish cultural center, will discuss travelogues of Istanbul written by Iranian adventurers during the Qajar period (1796-1925) in a session tomorrow.
Iranian scholars Ali-Akbar Shirvani and Mehdi Etemadifard are scheduled to attend the meeting entitled “Istanbul in Travelogues from the Qajar Period”, Persian media reported on Monday.
The Turkish city of Istanbul has long been a prime destination for the Iranian adventurers in different periods of history.
The program is part of a series of meetings named “Confrontation of Iranian Scholars and Luminaires with Turkey”.
