TEHRAN – Italian director Pino Di Buduo will perform his project “Invisible Cities” at the 36th Fajr International Theater Festival in February 2018, the organizers announced on Wednesday.
The play will go on stage in the Offstage Section of the festival.
Inspired by Italo Calvino’s novel by the same name, “Invisible Cities” is a multimedia artistic project, which takes place in everyday locations in the city.
Music, theater, video art, performance and installations are used to rediscover the history of arts and entertainment in this project.
The event will involve local and international performers, as well as citizens and the audience.
The project has been organized in collaboration with the Italian Embassy in Tehran.
Pino Di Buduo and his troupe Potlatch previously staged “The First 100 Years of Edith Piaf”, “Suspended Tread” and “Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Sea” at Tehran’s Baran Theater during 2016 and 2017.
The 36th Fajr International Theater Festival will take place in Tehran from February 18 to 29, 2018.
